Ahoy crumates! Grand Cru sets sail

On June 19 Grand Cru’s 2nd birthday was about taking the best of what a summer day in Finland has to offer.

The day started in Qulma, Kruununhaka with a very tasty breakfast and a Jeroboam of Champagne enjoyed by our now much bigger cru. For those wondering what a Jeroboam is… it’s a 3L bottle of Champagne therefore plenty to satisfy all our thirsty co-workers. For those now wondering how long we can keep serving only one bottle to the whole cru well… we can say that the company still has lots of room to grow since the biggest bottle of Champagne that can be found is a Melchizedek (30L).

“Anyhow no Champagne challenge can be declined by such a Grand Cru so bring it on!”

That was just the beginning of an exciting day as we then headed to the harbor to board the magnificent Astrid. After a quick sailing lesson the cru had no trouble getting the sails up and the boat ready to set for exciting horizons.

Lunch and refreshments were served in the cabin and on the deck for those who wanted to enjoy the beautiful summer weather. The afternoon was filled with team building exercises on Käärmeluoto to gather some ideas on future games, then build… yes BUILD…. with some cardboard, paper, pens and clay color sticks a real-life game model. The innovation and creativity shown in the amazing game models were rewarded with a hot sauna tent set-up on the deck and a (very) refreshing swim straight from the boat.

In the early evening it was time for the sunburned cru to come back to Helsinki for a classy dinner at the Boathouse then final drinks at Mattolaituri to enjoy this perfect never-ending summer day.

How would you like that for a birthday celebration?
